The 1st Navy SEAL to Serve in Congress Has a Dire Warning About Barack H. Obama

It should go without saying that the president’s job is to oppose terrorism, not fuel it.
Shockingly, a former military officer and special operations expert just warned that President Barack Obama is failing at that job … and putting America at risk with a “reckless” foreign policy.

Ryan Zinke is a Republican congressman from Montana. He’s also a retired Commander in the U.S. Navy and served with SEAL Team 6. That combination means that he is the first Navy SEAL to service in Congress.
Recently, he strongly criticized the president for failing to deal with terrorist threats in the Middle East.
“This administration’s inaction and lack of commitment and resolve in fighting ISIS provides fuel for terrorism. It gives them hope that they can win and it has ramifications worldwide,” stated Zinke during an interview with the Washington Free Beacon.
The former SEAL drew a direct line between Obama’s failure to address radical Islam and the recent terrorist strike that killed 12 people in Paris.
“There’s a reason why we’re in retreat everywhere across the globe. This administration has consistently acted from a viewpoint that you can negotiate with terrorism,” Zinke told the Free Beacon. “You cannot negotiate with organizations that are based on an ideology whose core is to destroy the West and America.”
“To me there is no doubt, inaction abroad emboldens actions on the home front. They are related.”
According to the anti-terrorism veteran, tactics such as long-distance air strikes and economic sanctions do not work against radical groups.
“This is the reality of asymmetrical warfare. When the enemy is willing to behead children, crucify entire villages, and with box cutters put commercial aircraft into buildings, there’s nothing this evil won’t do in pursuit of goal,” he said. “I think we’re at risk.”
Zinke expressed his belief that Obama’s soft foreign policy has caused radical terrorism to grow, not shrink. He stated that America must take the lead role in dealing with the global threat.
“The West is looking to the United States for leadership and when no one is at helm here then no other country is going to act with enough force or resolve to put extremist Islamic forces on the defensive,” he said.
“The American public is tough and is strong, but you have to tell them the truth. The truth is we face an enemy that is evil and not reformable. You can’t negotiate with them. We have to fight.”
He’s right, of course, but good luck getting the president to recognize any limits on his ability to negotiate with anyone.
The only group he insists on going to war with appears to be congressional Republicans.
